ABSCBN acquires Mars Ravelo’s Darna etc.

Internet buzzers have been talking about the forth coming of Darna on ABSCBN. Mr. Eric John Salut, AdProm Head of Kapamilya Network twitted about the 13 exclusive rights of Mars Ravelo granted to ABSCBN including Darna, Dyesebel, Jack En Jill etc. The question now is who among the ABSCBN stars will take the role of the epic female heroine.

Anne Curtis is bet to portray the role for Dyesebel, and Angel Locsin is bet for being the Darna again. It was remembered that in 2005, Angel played Darna in the TV for GMA7. Angel’s Darna was a success for it was tagged as first primetime series to reach a 47.1% rating (according to AGB and AC-Nielsen) in its pilot episode, the highest rating for a pilot episode in the Philippine TV history, beating Pangako Sa’yo with its 46.5%. It gained a 52.1% rating on its 4th episode. It is because of the first appearance of Darna from Narda. It was the highest rating achieved by a show on GMA-7. Its highest rating was 52.1% while the lowest was 33.3%. The overall ratings were 39.9%. Will Angel take the role again or ABSCBN will raffle the role for their young and popular stars?

For unofficial list of ABSCBN celebs that can probably play the role of Darna, here are my bets:

Jessy Mendiola 

The idea of Jessy to portray the role is just so perfect. With this girl vibrant and radiant skin and sexy and flawless aura – no one can resist her charm - following the step of beauty and sexy style of Angel Locsin. I am really eyeing her for the role. 

Sarah Geronimo  

Sarah can also be qualified for the role. She is popular and tagged as young icon. She could follow the steps taken by two Darna Singers – Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez.

Cristine Reyes 

I think Cristine has already matured and ready to take higher steps in her career. She can be one of the sexiest Darna can ever be.

Kim Chui

Kim’s charm is undeniably effective. She is one of Kapamilya gems and she can be effective portraying Darna – The Chinita girl.

Erich Gonzales

From Nene to Darna – what a transition. Erich can actually be one of the youngest versions of epic female heroine. But she needs to do training for the role required fighting scenes.

Regine Velasquez for ABSCBN’s My Binondo Girl

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velaquez’ voice mesmerized the theme song for ABSCBN’s newest primetime series. The latest offer features the comeback of Primetime Princess Kim Chiu for ‘My Binondo Girl’. The title of the song is ‘Sino Ako’ and been airing in the airwaves now.

But when asked if the songbird if she will switch networks, she said that she remain to be Kapuso and she don’t have plans of transferring the station. Meanwhile, the premiere of ‘My Binondo Girl’ will be on August 22. Kim Chiu is set to pair with her new screen partners – Jolo Revilla, Mateo Guidicelli and Xian Lim. The primetime series will also stars Comedy Queen Ai Ai Dela Alas, Gina Pareno, Cherry Pie Picache, Glydel Mercado and many more.

Asian Teen Obsession Mario Maurer - A Certified Kapamilya

PR Publicity Asia Queen B, Miss Joyce Ramirez broke the news about the forth coming of Asian Teen Sensation and Thai Heartthrob Mario Maurer to the Philippines for Penshoppe Endorsement. But here is the good news – PR Asia pronounces that Mario is also set for an ABSCBN TV Show and a Star Cinema project. Ms. Joyce Ramirez describes the projects to be “BIG”.  She confirmed that Mario is going to do a Star Cinema film and a TV project with Kapamilya Network. She also added the she will co-produce there up-coming grand project.

ABSCBN's New Lupang Hinirang Video Ad

In line with the 113th Independence Day celebration, ABSCBN launched their new National Anthem Video Ad featuring big names from their league of stars. The video started with Piolo Pascual running a torch carrying a flag along with other male celebrities with the like of Rafael Roselle, Luis Manzano, Diether Ocampo and Jericho Rosales. The following sequence seen was a native Pahiyas Festival featuring female Kapamilya stars - Maja Salvador, Shaina Magdayao, Empress Shuck, and Andi Eigenman. The video shows different Philippine landmarks including Manila, Bicol, Bohol, Intramuros, Cavite and many more.

ABSCBN President Charo Santos-Concio introduced the video with the network's building behind her. Judy Ann Santos was shoot in an old church in Guadalupe and the following sequence was Bea Alonzo and Angel Locsin was shoot in Kawit, Cavite. The female stars was stunningly beautiful with their Filipiniana Dress. The next sequence was with Gary Valenciano in beautiful Manila Bay. Along with other big names in showbiz industry, the video was shoot in various places in the Philippines.
