MMFF Biggest and Grandest movie - Enteng ng Ina Mo !

I am honored to post the 2011 MMFF biggest, grandest, funniest, and enormous film. I can say that this is a dream project made into reality. This is the joint forces of two gigantic movies of Metro Manila Film Festival, Enteng Kabisote and Tanging Ina Mo. Star Cinema, M-Zet Films, OctoArts Films and APT Entertainment came up of the dream project pairing up two biggest royalties of showbiz, Comedy Blockbuster King Bossing Vic Sotto and Comedy Queen Ai Ai Delas Alas.

For the past years of MMFF, Enteng and Tanging Ina are battling teeth to teeth for supremacy. Ai Ai prove herself after her Tanging Ina movies went to be blockbuster films and hailed her as festival’s Best Actress last year. Moreover, Bossing is continuing his legendary adventures through Enteng Kabisote since 1990 until to this date.

December 20, 2011, in Cravings, Katipunan, bloggers in the Metro Manila gathered for the conference conducted by Star Cinema for movie “Enteng ng Ina Mo”. Bossing Vic came to the conference alongside with movie’s writer Danno Kristoper C. Mariquit and director Tony Y Reyes. Bossing entered the venue with a very inviting greeting to everyone.

Bossing was so flattered for this project for this is his most ambitious and grandest project. He defines the difference of his crowd to Ai Ai’s. He said that he past Enteng movies was of magical and mystic type while Ai Ai’s was more of reality and feminist type. But they shared one thing in common; both films valued the importance of family. In this movie, Enteng ng Ina Mo, there’s a line varying between fantasy and reality.

Writer Danno Kristoper C. Mariquit admitted that he has hard time thinking how the two different world of Ina Montecillo will and Enteng Kabisote will meet. He studied both of the films and sees one thing they shared in common. For at the end of the day, both characters will go back to their roots – FAMILY.

Bossing shared that the idea of putting this Enteng and Ina movie started when Ai Ai joked in her acceptance speech. Ai Ai said that he wants to marry Vic Sotto. And everything came to reality when Star Cinema opened up to bossing their intention of making Ai Ai-Vic film after making Doktor Kwak with Bea Alonzo.

The movie is filled with funny and magical scenes. They revealed that they have spoofed famous Star Cinema movies. And Bossing shared that his favorite time doing this film was during their downtime. It’s their time to bond with each other knowing the fact that they came from two different stations. I asked bossing how much is the possibility of a second installation for Enteng ng Ina Mo, knowing that this movie will be a sure hit. He answered that there is a sure possibility of a part 2, that would only varies on scheduling the cast again.

So this Christmas, let us laugh and let the magic of Enteng ng Ina Mo entertain us. Get out the house and see this once in a lifetime film. For sure, this will make much money for MMFF. Don’t ever ever forget to watch Enteng ng Ina Mo on December 25. Starring Vic Sotto and Ai Ai Delas Alas.

Television Show : Eat Bulaga ... Philippine History

Lunch time wouldn’t be complete without food and cold drink in the table. But of course, we need something to be entertained with while filling up our hungry stomach.  Entertainment is a real though job here in the Philippines, but one show stood still amidst the fast changing diversity of audience viewing. Eat Bulaga manage to maintain their top spot in Philippine Noontime Television. Many shows arose from fame but lost its identity in competing with this epic noon time show.

Eat Bulaga is a noontime variety show in the Philippines produced by Television And Production Exponents Inc. or better known as TAPE and aired presently in GMA Network. The show broadcast from GMA Broadway Centrum and airs Weekdays at 12:15 PM and Saturdays at 12 NN.  In 2010, the show celebrated its 31^st year on Philippine Television and holds the record of being the longest running TV show in the country today. The show premiered on July 30, 1979 on RPN with Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon as the hosts and Chiqui Hollman and Richie d Horsie as co host.

It was in 1989 when EB moved to ABSCBN under a co production agreement when RPN and IBC were seized by the Philippine Government. But the show moved to GMA Network due to ABSCBN’s interest to buy the airing rights of Eat Bulaga from TAPE Inc. On February 18, 1995 historic event as it may be called that Eat Bulaga marched their way to GMA Network and Ms. Wilma Galvante welcomed them and reunited with the group as Ms. Galvante also came from RPN.

And the rest are history. 2005 when EB celebrated their 25^th year on Television at the Expo Amphitheater and it was attended by almost 60,000 audiences. EB has launched different personality that became households’ names today. With the like of Allan K, Jimmy Santos, Ruby Rodriguez, Wally and Jose, Sex Bomb Girls, Toni Gonzaga and Ms. Ai Ai Delas Alas. Now that EB is still waving in the tides of Philippine TV, no show can equally compete with Eat Bulaga.

I remember watching them when I was in Nursery before going to school. Since then the rival network offered numbers of shows but no one stand still. Now that I graduated in College (adding up the two years when I stopped schooling) EB is still part of our family entertainment. I could really say that EB is part of my daily life and marked my identity.

I enjoy the fun and entertainment they give to their audience. Giving chances to others and giving instant surprises to their contestants - not to the outmost that they give false hope.  EB has maintained their humble beginnings and continue to entertain younger generations today. They brought back the formula of partying/jamming in the streets that are best known in the late nineties. They reinvent the old formula adding up the innovation of technology through mobile phones, surprising their winners and going to their houses.

EB shows the other side of the Philippines that most people have taken for granted. The simple smile they bring to an unfortunate student without the things she needed for school priceless. I wish that EB continue to give Filipino audiences here and abroad quality entertainment and put a smile in many faces of those people who have less in life. Cheers for more years Eat Bulaga !
