Internet buzzers have been talking about the forth coming of
Darna on ABSCBN. Mr. Eric John Salut, AdProm Head of Kapamilya Network twitted
about the 13 exclusive rights of Mars Ravelo granted to ABSCBN including Darna,
Dyesebel, Jack En Jill etc. The question now is who among the ABSCBN stars will
take the role of the epic female heroine.
Anne Curtis is bet to portray the role for Dyesebel, and
Angel Locsin is bet for being the Darna again. It was remembered that in 2005,
Angel played Darna in the TV for GMA7. Angel’s Darna was a success for it was
tagged as first
primetime series to reach a 47.1% rating (according to AGB and AC-Nielsen) in
its pilot
episode, the
highest rating for a pilot episode in the Philippine TV history, beating
Pangako Sa’yo with
its 46.5%. It gained a 52.1% rating on its 4th episode. It is because of
the first appearance of Darna from Narda. It was the highest rating achieved by
a show on GMA-7. Its highest rating was 52.1% while the lowest was
33.3%. The overall ratings were 39.9%. Will Angel take the
role again or ABSCBN will raffle the role for their young and popular stars?
For unofficial list of ABSCBN celebs that can probably play
the role of Darna, here are my bets:
Jessy Mendiola
The idea of Jessy to portray the role is just so perfect.
With this girl vibrant and radiant skin and sexy and flawless aura – no one can
resist her charm - following the step of beauty and sexy style of Angel Locsin.
I am really eyeing her for the role.
Sarah
Geronimo
Sarah can also be qualified for the role. She is popular and
tagged as young icon. She could follow the steps taken by two Darna Singers –
Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez.
Cristine
Reyes
I think Cristine has already matured and ready to take
higher steps in her career. She can be one of the sexiest Darna can ever be.
Kim
Chui
Kim’s charm is undeniably effective. She is one of Kapamilya
gems and she can be effective portraying Darna – The Chinita girl.
Erich
Gonzales
From Nene to Darna – what a transition. Erich can actually
be one of the youngest versions of epic female heroine. But she needs to do
training for the role required fighting scenes.
