Filipinos are known to be being a world class talent. Philippines have given birth to many popular jewels in the world today. To name few are ; Lea Salonga, Charice, Nicole Scherzinger, Enrique Iglesias, Regine Velasquez, Lani Misalucha, Martin Nievera and many more. We have proved that Filipinos are vocally talented and can shine its talent to the world. International audiences clamor on Filipino performances.
If you will asked a young singer amateur who her idol is – I am sure she will give you the names like Sarah Geronimo, Regine Velasquez and Charice Pempengco. They’re rags to riches stories marked to our minds. They used to be like dreamers but now – they are one of the brightest stars in the entertainment world. If you will go to typical Filipino celebrations – I am sure videoke/karaoke wouldn’t be missed. Filipinos are hugged fan of singing. There isn’t a member of a family who doesn’t know how to sing. Videoke sessions stand as one of recreational activities and bonding sessions for each family and friends. That’s why I am confident to say that Filipino will rule in the Karaoke World Championships in Killarney, Ireland.

Bloggers around Metro Manila were invited for a videoke event and media launching of KWC Philippines. I have been pleasured to be invited to this event for I am a videoke addict. It used as a bonding activity with my friends and family. In the KWC event, bloggers compete for the ultimate singing champions and I saw a new found crush. A cutie blogger named Kenneth sang ‘You’ by Basil Valdez and hailed as the champion. I don’t know how to hide my smile but it was one of the kilig moments I have. I really enjoyed that night and thankful for the warm welcome from KWC.

Karaoke World Championship has been around since 2003, but there were no Filipino contenders yet. It gathers 30 countries and provides opportunity for many amateurs to showcase their vocal talents to the big world. This is the chance for every Pinoys to prove to the world once again that we can outshine the rest of the world. I encourage Filipino singing enthusiast all over the world to join the KWC contest.
