A Mother’s Love

On the last few weeks of June 2011, a news sprout in the web world that young actress Andi Eigenman is pregnant. Andi rose to fame after her portrayal in the hit primetime series ‘Agua Bendita’ in ABSCBN. Her mother, actress Jackilyn Jose confirms that the young actress is 4 months pregnant. Jackilyn was very emotional when she faced the interview with ABSCBN News. She told in her interview that it’s not simple problem but she has to understand her baby girl because as her mother, she has to support her.

The father of the child would have been known by now, but Jackilyn said that he abandoned her daughter when he found out about Andi’s pregnancy. She even mentioned that the guy is Andi’s first sweetheart.
She told the ABSCBN news that the moment Andi confessed to her, she went straight to the church and asked God’s providence. She accepted whatever may have come to this event and she is ready to support her daughter and her future grandchild all the way. She mentioned that their family accepted Andi and they are just behind her all the way. She appeals to the public not to judge the young actress and give her a chance to be understood.

As a viewer and audience, I admire Ms. Jackilyn’s courage to appeal to the public. That is indeed a showcase of an unconditional love of a mother to her child. Ms. Jose and Andi are fighting their battle in the right way.  And if you fight the right battle, in the right way, the outcome can change not only your life, but also the lives of others. Andi is a public figure, and people might have miss interpreted her or even judge her for her actions. But today, we must have understood Andi like our little sister. She must have done something but in return it is a great blessing from God. For Ms. Jackilyn and Andi, you must go forward in faith, and you must always be attentive to the quiet voice of your heart.

Andi is not alone in this fight. She is just one of thousands of young teenage who gets pregnant at early age. She is not alone in this fight. She must have been lucky to have her mother beside her in this moment of her life. How many teens left their home to avoid misjudgment from their own family? How many commit abortion to save their pride and glory? This is judge a challenge for each and everyone. And carrying their own cross and accepting their challenge will not make them lesser person.
