113th Philippine Independence Day

Today is the 113th Philippine Independence Day celebration as Filipinos all over the world commemorates this national event. President Benigno Aquino will lead the festivity in various sites today. Simultaneous flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies will be held at the Rizal National Monument at the Rizal Park, The Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine, and other historic sites all over the country.

This year’s theme is “Kalayaan: Paninindigan ng Bayan” and different activities have planned by different government agencies and other local government.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will lead Static Display, Kinetic Presentation, PMC Drum and Bugle team Exhibition and PMA Silent Drill and a slow drill exhibition from the PNPA. Department of Labor and Employment prepare a whole day job fair at the Fountain Area of the Rizal Park. The Department of Tourism and National Historical Commission of the Philippines join forces for the afternoon program which will start at 4PM at the Quirino Grandstand. There will be an arrival of honors for the president followed by a ‘Parada ng Kalayaan’.
