July will be the celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month. Let us unite together with the showcase of best Japanese cinema, colorful anime/manga characters and original Japanese music that will be held all over the Philippines - Manila, Cebu and Davao. This is a project of Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) and the Embassy of Japan for the entire month of July.

The celebration opens with the annual Egai Sai or Japanese Film Festival on July 1st, Friday at the Shang Cineplex in Shangri-La Plaza Mall. Egai Sai literally means ‘film festival’ is not on its 13th year and is organized by Embassy of Japan, The Shangri-La Plaza Corporation, and UP Film Institute and supported by Lyric Piano and ClickTheCity.com.

The film festival will begin with an invitational screening and special performance of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra’s principal cellist, Mr. Renato Lucas with pianist, Ms. Naomi Sison. The musical performance will be at 7:00 P.M. at the Atrium Plaza of Shangri-La Plaza.
