Britney Spears coming to Manila

Have you heard that Britney Spears is coming to Manila this November 2011?

No confirmations for the exact date yet, but it is sure that American Superstar will be performing in Philippine land this year 2011. Britney has been a prominent figure on 90’s pop music and revolutionized the pop culture industry. Britney has sold over 100 million records worldwide that makes her one of the best selling artist in the history of contemporary music. Her latest album, Femme Fatale debuted at number one spot in the United States that became her 6th number album.

If the reported concert will pursue, it will be part of her Femme Fatale concert tour that started in the US this June. In addition, this will be the first time that Britney will step in the Philippine soil. This will be a once in a life chance for pop music fanatic to see her perform live in Manila.

I grew up listening to Britney Spears. I have noticed some differences on how she performs before than how she does today. They were once intrigues that Britney are one of those performers who lip synched during live performances. I don’t think it’s fair for an audience like me to pay for an expensive ticket just to see a lip synched performance of a singer. It wouldn’t be professional though for the performers to do such act. I remember the news that Australian audiences walked out when Whitney Houston lip synched her performance in one of her tour last year.

And this is another video of Britney performing live. This time she was with Rihanna singing the latter’s hit song S&M in Billboard Music Award. I bet you – you will laugh. Britney is very obvious lip synching Riri’s song.




But either Britney fakes her performance or not – she will still be Britney Spears. She will still be the teenage girl who made history to pop music. No matter how expensive the tickets prices are, her concert in Manila will surely be a hit! I am getting excited because for sure, Britney will be mob by many paparazzi and showbiz journalist from in and outside of the Philippines. No matter who she acted in the previous years, Britney will always be an Icon.
